A collaborative vision of Shanghai.

Join ESI Design writer Debra Everett-Lane, interaction designer James Tu, art director Angela Greene and graphic designer Laura Gunther as they describe how ESI created a way for the citizens of Shanghai to help design a Pavilion that represents their many perspectives of the city. To make it happen, ESI turned the Dream Cube's website into a powerful social platform where visitors could create galleries filled with photographs that were taken in response to several compelling assignments such as, "take a photo of Shanghai's youth." The result is The People's Archive – a collection of thousands of photographs available online, and on spectacular multimedia surfaces that fill the Dream Cube itself.
