Florida's newest tropical paradise is building a collaborative community from the ground up.
Naples Botanical Garden is in the process of a major transformation of its gardens and a restoration of its native wetland. In partnership with the community, the Garden is working with a group of internationally recognized landscape architects to create a completely new environment that integrates the region’s natural ecology with stunning new garden designs.
To complement the new Garden, ESI Design created a new graphic identity, wayfinding system and website that will serve as the Garden’s public identity. All of ESI’s design elements for the Naples Botanical Garden were created to convey its revitalized personality and give visitors multiple ways to interact with garden experts, staff members and one another.
In September 2008, ESI Design unveiled the new website and graphic identity for the Naples Botanical Garden. The website gives visitors the opportunity to “virtually” visit the Garden while the 170-acre tropical paradise is closed for expansion until 2010. Visitors to the website can explore the future garden via an interactive map and future videos. Kids and teachers can download lesson plans and play games. A variety of community blogs allow both staff and volunteer gardeners to post information and images of plants they are growing for use in the future garden. Online visitors can also upload personal garden photos and witness the new Garden’s construction process with a slideshow of up-to-date aerial and ground photographs.
