A multilingual children’s community on the Web that merges learning, play, social networking and fun.
ESI worked with Sesame Workshop to connect a broad international community of children through a fun online experience that educates and entertains.
To achieve this goal, ESI designers combined the geographic technology of Google Earth with the social networking popularity of MySpace and trading cards to create a child-friendly community-building experience of astonishing complexity. The website – launched in 11 countries – features five language options and over 15,000 sound files, all supported by a robust back-end system.
ESI’s designers managed, produced and built the multilingual site and solved the complex linguistic, cultural and programming challenges of using multiple character displays (including Japanese, Arabic and Chinese). The scale and complexity of the information architecture and software implementation represent major design achievements and reflect the integrated efforts of ESI’s Media & Technology team.
