A thriving blend of residential, business and parks development come together.
Playa Vista represents a new vision in urban development – one that allows a residential community and dynamic business center to thrive alongside the extensive parks and restored wetlands of the area. ESI is developing two master plans and several design concepts that guide the design, development and uses of the natural areas and housing developments.
The first master plan establishes an integrated signage system that respects existing urban street sign conventions and guidelines. The second master plan guides the development of community-building activities that enable ongoing communication, create an opportunity for recreation and culture, and promote environmental awareness.
In addition to the two master plans, ESI has recently completed a Final Concept Design for the Ballona Wetlands at Playa Vista. The Ballona Wetlands Discovery Experience will be a “museum without walls” that establishes a trailhead for the “Experience Ballona” initiative, celebrates Ballona’s natural and cultural history, and encourages residents and visitors to Playa Vista to learn about this important ecosystem.
