Why are games important?
Games can encourage positive social interactions and build meaningful relationships. They can teach new skills and reveal collective behaviors that are normally hidden. They can provide enriching activities to schools, cultural institutions, corporations, retail environments and special events. Plus, games are really fun.
As an extension of ESI’s commitment to drive innovation and reimagine meaningful interactions, we’ve developed the ESI Game Lab—an experimental “do tank” that creates novel game experiences. The Game Lab promotes collaboration through play, spectacle and narrative in the public realm.
We have created and run games in public spaces, city wide festivals and industry conferences around the country—including the Come Out & Play Festival (in New York and San Francisco), Steel City Games Fest, DC Games Festival, Indiecade (in New York and Los Angeles), Games for Change, and SEGD Xlab 2011 Conference.
